The Solution

OM1 offered the client access to unique, real-world, longitudinal patient data that included disease activity and severity scores derived from clinical assessments and patient reporting.

The Solution

OM1 was engaged to conduct a retrospective analysis of changes in patients’ disease activity (across multiple types of clinical assessments) and in patient-reported outcomes (PROs).

The analysis was based on longitudinal data in the OM1 PsA Registry which links the electronic medical records (EMR) and administrative claims of over 50,000 de-identified patients in the US.

The database reflects the full patient journey, through inpatient and outpatient encounters at acute care facilities, ambulatory surgery centers, and private and academic clinical practice settings. It includes patient demographics, vital signs, medical history, treatment history, encounter type, clinician notes, assessments, diagnoses, lab results, and prescribing details otherwise unavailable in claims data alone.

The study was designed to capture baseline and follow-up measurements of clinician and patient reported outcomes at 6- and 12- months after treatment initiation (Figure 1). The study population consisted of nearly 2,000 patients.

Due to the richness of OM1’s registry, the study could assess changes across a range of standard assessments for PsA. These comprised of Clinician Reported Outcomes, including the Clinical Disease Activity Index (CDAI) and PROs,

including the RAPID3 scores and the Multi-Dimensional Health Assessment Questionnaire (MDHAQ) Patient Global Assessment.

To complement the structured data, we abstracted information from unstructured data, which aligned with the client’s scientific priorities. This method allowed the initial dosing regimen and the reasons for treatment discontinuation and/or switching to be characterized.
